Tōta Kaneko

Tōta Kaneko, 2015

Tōta Kaneko (金子 兜太, Kaneko Tōta), (Chichibu, September 23, 1919 – Kumagaya, February 20, 2018) was a Japanese writer.

He studied at the University of Tokyo and worked for the Bank of Japan. He started to write poems (haiku) helped by his father Mitsuharu Kaneko.

Kaneko died on February 20, 2018 of Acute respiratory distress syndrome in Kumagaya, Saitama at the age of 98.[1][2][3]
